INSAN
The word “insan” is an Arabic word. It means “human”.
It defines precisely the motivating idea behind who and what we are: a group of dedicated people aiming never to forget that at the root and heart of all our actions, however grand or important we may think ourselves to be, is the one raw fact of our humanity. We wish never to forget that fact – and to ensure that those who exercise power are not allowed to either. That is why our symbol is a human fingerprint – it speaks of the unrepeatable identity of each and every one of us. It is also the inky sign that is required of us when Authority wishes to take control.
THE MISSION;
It is the mission of INSANN to work closely in the intersections, where ideas and policy meet. We are wedded to peace, and reject violence in all its forms. Our core aim is to ensure that issues of development, human rights, and democracy are placed squarely on influential international agendas, where the promotion of pluralism, as well as the protection and support of advocates of democracy and their families, will receive the backing and implementation they so richly deserve.
Essential and parallel to this view is a continuous program of democracy training and the investigation on-the-ground of human rights situations in the region of the Middle East, North Africa and the Mediterranean Union. In this continuous gathering of in-situ information, INSAN will go beyond presentation to in-depth analysis.
At INSAN, therefore, it is our vision not only to focus our efforts on the professional policy community, but also to dedicate attention and resources to the needs and role of intellectuals, in-country advocates of freedom, and grass-roots activists. Supporting them through both practical and moral means in the pursuit of the high ideals of the rights of citizens is, thus, an indisputable and integral part of our work and commitment.

Team: First team meeting took place on Wednesday 27th of May where we agreed on our Mission statement. Team members had next day to brainstorm and come back with project ideas and what expertise they have and what they needed to develop.
Team assignments are divided upon members giving each the chance to develop skills as a basic process of capacity building. Changing experiences between individuals is essential.
Decision making: Limited time session in where time managing also is a learning process. Time divided equally upon participants and voting is used to make final decisions.
